2019 XE vs 2019 3 Series Interior Space

Inside the Jaguar XE and BMW 3 Series, you have plenty of room for five people. With all that passenger space, everyone can feel comfortable on even the longest drives.

The interior dimensions are pretty neck and neck, with the XE offering a bit more shoulder room. Inside this model, you get 56.8 inches of front shoulder room and 54.7 inches of rear shoulder room. Then, in the 3 Series, you have 56 inches of front shoulder room and 54.6 inches of rear shoulder room.

Both vehicles also offer plenty of trunk space for shopping bags, luggage, and other personal belongings. Plus, with 40/20/40 split-folding rear seats, you can easily fit larger items inside while still leaving room for a backseat passenger or two.

Furthermore, each car offers a hands-free trunk lid. So, if your hands are full, you can swipe your foot under the rear bumper. The trunk will then open in seconds for quick and easy loading.

Cabin Design & Amenities

Jaguar XE InteriorWhen you want the ultimate look and feel of luxury, you can’t go wrong with either the 2019 XE or 2019 3 Series.

Both models come standard with synthetic leather upholstery and offer leather seating in higher trim levels. In fact, the leather used in the XE is sourced from some of the finest hide suppliers in the UK and Italy. The result is a natural, glove-soft feel with twin-needle leather stitching that enhances durability.

Additionally, you’ll find lots of impressive amenities inside these automobiles, which includes creature comforts, such as heated front and rear seats along with a heated steering wheel. Plus, the XE offers ventilated front seats to help cool you down on hot summer days.

The Jaguar model offers 18-way power front seats, as well. This seat allows you to get into your ideal seating position right away.

Unfortunately, the BMW model only offers 14-way power-adjustable front seats.

Jaguar XE vs BMW 3 Series Technologies

When it comes to luxury vehicles, you can expect there to be lots of high-tech features inside. Such as the case with the X3 and 3 Series, where you’ll find innovative technologies in both automobiles.

The 2019 Jaguar XE comes standard with an InControl Touch Pro™ infotainment system. All your media options appear on a 10-inch touchscreen, and you can easily navigate your way around through voice command.

The vehicle then offers InControl Apps. You can download various apps onto your smartphone, then plug the device into the vehicle’s USB port. As a result, you can listen to music, send text messages, and more without needing to touch your phone while driving.

The 2019 BMW 3 Series comes with an advanced infotainment system of its own, as well. However, the standard screen is just 8.8 inches. Plus, it does have a similar smartphone integration feature in the form of Apple CarPlay™. Unfortunately, this optional feature is just for a 1-year trial, and it doesn’t offer connectivity for Android phones.

Advanced Safety Options

Jaguar XE Safety OptionsWhen it comes to safety, the Jaguar and BMW vehicles offer plenty of features to give you great peace of mind.

For instance, they each offer cutting-edge driver-assisting technologies, such as:

  • Blind Spot Assist
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Lane Keep Assist

The XE also offers Traffic Sign Recognition. This feature can detect speed limit and no passing signs via a forward-facing camera. It’ll then display them to the driver, so you can act accordingly.

Another useful feature available in the XE is a 360° Surround Camera. It gives you a complete view of your surroundings and displays those images onto the vehicle’s infotainment screen. This system makes parking by a curb or getting in and out of tight spaces easier.

Unfortunately, you won’t find anything like Traffic Sign Recognition nor the 360° Surround Camera in the 3 Series.

XE vs 3 Series Performance Specs

Inside the 2019 XE, you’ll find four engine options, starting with the 247-horsepower 2.0L 4-cylinder engine.

You’ll also find impressive fuel economy ratings inside this automobile. In fact, the Jaguar can achieve up to an EPA-estimated 32/42 highway MPG.* As a result, you can spend a long time on the road before needing to stop and refuel.

Where the Jaguar XE offers four different engines, you’ll find just two options inside the BMW 3 Series. Plus, the vehicle is unfortunately not quite as fuel-efficient, achieving an EPA-estimated 23 city/33 highway MPG.

Furthermore, the Jaguar vehicle comes standard with All Surface Progress Control. This feature acts like a low-speed cruise control that helps you stay in control in low-traction situations. You set a target speed between 2.2 and 18.6 MPH, and the system will work to maintain that speed while traveling in the snow, rain, or on wet grass.

Unfortunately, this type of feature isn’t available inside the BMW vehicle.
